About the Event

Find out if YOU are what these publishers are looking for. Understanding what publishers need, increases your chances of developing a working relationship with them.

Join us for this free online event. Get YOUR questions answered by publishers. Here's what we'll be discussing:

  • What kinds of songs are publishhers ALWAYS looking for?
  • How do they FIND the writers that they sign?
  • What sure-fire thing can writers do to get a publisher's attention?
  • ASK YOUR OWN QUESTION!

After the meeting, 3 deserving songwriters will get their music in front of the publishers. DiscoverSooner will curate song submissions and recommend 3 writers to the publishers. Learn how to send in your song.

Learn more about our panelists!

Jeffery Nelson:

Jeffrey Nelson is a longtime indie plugger in Nashville (now starting his 19th year) representing various hit writers and select publishing companies. He has successfully placed outside songs with Tracy Lawrence, Bucky Covington, Aaron Pritchett and Joe Nichols, among others. Prior to serving as a plugger he worked in sales for BMG Distribution in Hollywood and Provident Music in Franklin. He earned his Bachelor of Arts/Commercial Music degree from Millikin University in 1990."

Courtney Allen:

Courtney Allen, Creative Director A&R. In 2018, Courtney joined the team at BMG where she works with hit songwriters Jon Randall, Matt Roy, Travis Meadows and Carly Pearce among others. Kos Weaver recognized Courtney’s creative heart saying, “she has just the right instincts to make things happen on behalf of creators.” Before joining BMG, Courtney worked at Starstruck Entertainment (management company to Blake Shelton and previously Kelly Clarkson and Reba) and prior to that worked at NSAI mentoring unsigned songwriters and artists.

If you're ready to take the next step in songwriting, sign up for the Career Plan at DiscoverSooner.com. Publishers will have access to your music and you can pitch your songs to all future panels for free.
